Joseph A Griffith
Joseph Griffith is a Caribbean-born pastor, author, and mentor with over 36 years of ministry experience. Known for his deep reflections and quiet strength, his writing blends personal truth, cultural wisdom, and pastoral insight to inspire transformation and hope.
The third of twelve siblings, Joseph was raised in a modest home where hardship became a teacher and creativity a necessity. His early life included tending sheep, learning practical skills, and navigating the realities of life in a large family — experiences that would later shape the honesty and depth of his voice.
Alongside his pastoral calling, Joseph worked for decades in mechanical maintenance — a field that trained him to observe closely, troubleshoot calmly, analyse thoroughly, and patiently repair what others gave up on. That same instinct now shapes the way he writes, teaches, and mentors: not just to name what is broken, but to seek what can be restored.
His debut work, Born of the Shell, is more than a book. It is a call to rise beyond what holds us back — whether inherited burdens, silent struggles, or the debris of life’s detours — and to step into the person we were always meant to become. While rooted in the Caribbean story, his message is universal — resonating with anyone seeking identity, healing, and purpose.
Now retired from the trade, Joseph continues to live fully and simply. He enjoys hands-on DIY projects, time in nature, the occasional turn in the kitchen, and mentoring those walking their own journey of growth. He lives in Barbados with his devoted wife of 38 years and is the proud father of two productive gentlemen — a quiet testimony to the mentoring legacy lived out in his own family.
